What are Quality Standards?
Countries and statutory bodies around the world have invested time and expertise in developing process and product standards. The aim? To measure and maintain quality. Generally, each country develops its own standards and testing criteria for different classes of products, processes and services.
Grandmark Glass is Quality Certified
Grandmark Glass complies with these local and international standards:
The South African Bureau of Standards was established in 1945 with the aim of developing, promoting and maintaining South African National Standards (SANS), and to promote quality in commodities, products and services.
The E-Mark is a European conformity mark or permit issued by the transport sector, indicating that a product complies with relevant laws, regulations and directives of the issuing country.
The United States Department of Transportation assigns a unique DOT number to all approved manufacturers of automotive glass. Grandmark Glass’ DOT number is 563.
Standards Australia (also known as the SAA) was established in 1922 and is recognised as the peak non-government standards development body in that country. The SAA approves compliant glass products through its AS2080 & AS/NZ2208 certifications.
The China Compulsory Certificate is a safety licensing requirement, implemented by the Chinese government in 2002. CCC certification requirements are in line with European standards for automotive parts.
The International Organization for Standardization develops and publishes International Standards which ensure that products are safe, reliable and of good quality. Our manufacturer operates in accordance with management system standards such as ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management). ISO/TS 16949 is a technical specification which indicates that a given manufacturer has a quality management system in place, providing for continual improvement and defect prevention. It applies to the design, development, production and, when relevant, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.
